Supportive Massage After Mastectomy or Lumpectomy

Support healing with gentle and effective care.

Who can benefit

I provide compassionate and specialized care for those recovering from breast, chest, or oncology surgeries. My Therapeutic Breast Massage focuses on the soft tissues of the chest wall, including the areas around and beneath the breast tissue, to support your healing journey and enhance your comfort. Whether you've had a breast reduction, augmentation, partial or full mastectomy, or other reconstructive surgeries, I am here to help.

Using gentle and proven techniques, I aim to improve lymphatic flow, relieve tissue tightness, reduce scarring and pain, and alleviate any discomfort you may be experiencing in your neck, shoulders, and back. I understand that after any surgery—especially those involving the breast or chest—your body undergoes significant changes.  I completed a six-month mentorship and training program with The Mastectomy Guide, where I learned about therapeutic breast massage, various types of breast and chest surgeries, and common post-operative complications.

Once you are cleared by your surgeon, adding lymphatic drainage massage and scar tissue treatment can greatly enhance your healing process. Lymphatic drainage massage improves lymph fluid flow, which is essential for flushing out waste and reducing inflammation. This gentle massage helps minimize swelling and prevent fluid buildup in areas such as your arm or torso. Additionally, scar tissue massage is important, as it helps address residual scar tissue and reduces the chances of adhesions forming in the region and surrounding areas of the body.  My goal is to provide you with supportive and caring assistance throughout your recovery. You don’t have to go through this alone!

What to Expect in a Session

Truly grateful that you’ve chosen to be with Hope for Scars, and want you to know that your comfort and well-being are our greatest priorities.  During a chest massage session, it’s important to create a warm and comforting environment. It's a moment for relaxation and healing, allowing you to feel nurtured and at ease.

Here’s what you can look forward to in your session: I’ll begin with a thorough intake process and a clear, compassionate consent procedure for breast/chest work. We believe it’s important for you to feel informed and empowered to make choices about your experience. Please remember that you can change your mind at any time, and that we are here to support you every step of the way.

The techniques are gentle and slow, thoughtfully designed to help you feel comfortable and relaxed, while aiming for minimal discomfort. Careful positioning and draping are used to ensure that you feel safe and snug throughout the session.

Additionally, I will provide you with helpful tips for managing scar tissue, reducing swelling, and caring for yourself at home. My goal is to continue supporting you even after our time together, ensuring you feel cared for throughout your journey.
