Scars from C-sections or any abdominal surgeries can negatively impact mobility, energy flow, and overall health. They may also activate the sympathetic nervous system, increasing stress levels and leading to discomfort and chronic pain in other parts of the body.

Scar Release Therapy (SRT) is an effective method to reduce these negative effects. Using Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS), SRT enhances skin metabolism and healing, addressing chronic pain and promoting the skin's natural renewal process.

BENEFITS OF TREATMENT  OF SCARS WITH MPS THERAPY DURING MASSAGE:

  • Naturally reduces nervous system STRESS and cortisol (average 35%)
  • Decrease pain and tissue sensitivity

Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) massage is an essential component of healing and recovery both before and after surgery. This type of massage promotes healing by enhancing blood flow and reducing inflammation. MLD is also effective in preventing post-surgery lymphedema by minimizing fluid accumulation in restricted areas. Additionally, MLD aids in pain management by alleviating fluid buildup around nerves and improving overall immune function.

This specialized form of massage stimulates lymphatic flow, improving immune function, fluid balance, and tissue health.

Inflammation can really affect how your gut microbiome and lymphatic system function, which in turn can influence your overall well-being. If you're dealing with chronic inflammation, you might experience some swelling, tightness, or discomfort in your abdomen. It’s important to check for any serious illnesses before exploring options like systemic flow therapy.

This gentle and soothing treatment focuses on releasing facial restrictions that can block lymphatic flow. When your lymphatic system isn’t working well, it can lead to fluid buildup and pressure. By improving the connection between your digestive organs and lymphatic system, this therapy helps to ease stress and tension in your body, recognizing how everything is connected. It’s a step towards feeling more balanced and relaxed!

Vagus nerve

The Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS) is a part of the involuntary nervous system that helps slow the heart rate, increase intestinal and glandular activity, and relax the sphincter muscles. It works together with the sympathetic nervous system to regulate the body's automatic functions. This system allows the body to function in a "rest and digest" state by increasing salivation and digestion activities while decreasing the heart rate and other responses.  Vagal tone (HF), or high-frequency, is the main indicator of parasympathetic vagal nerve activity and health. It refers to the activity of the vagus nerve, which is a key component of the parasympathetic branch of the autonomic nervous system. The vagus nerve promotes relaxation and helps the body recover by counteracting the effects of the sympathetic nervous system, which triggers the release of stress hormones. People with stronger vagal tone can rest, recover, and restore much more quickly.

Enhancing vagal tone can reduce inflammation, reduce muscle tension, improve circulation and lymph flow, and reduce pain. It sends anti-inflammatory signals to the body, aids in stress, anxiety, and fear recovery, and promotes gut feeling.

Dolphin VNS is a safe clinical procedure and could be an effective treatment for stress reduction & vagal tone enhancement.

Concussion/head injuries

If you've recently sustained a head injury while playing a sport, experienced a fall, or are dealing with chronic aches and pains, you might want to consider concussion therapy.

Whiplash is a common diagnosis following a car accident, but many people overlook the possibility of a concussion. The sudden back-and-forth motion during a collision can cause the brain to be moved around, which may result in an injury, such as a concussion.

MPS Therapy is an effective treatment for concussions (both recent and past), traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), stroke recovery, and pain.  It alleviates discomfort by reducing stress, relaxing muscles, and releasing endorphins through acupuncture and trigger point therapy.

MPS concussion protocol lowers cortisol levels to relieve symptoms and has also shown benefits for other neurological disorders.

Concussion Therapy using MPS, which focuses on treating cranial sutures on the skull and specific acupuncture points on the body, has demonstrated efficacy in reducing concussion symptoms such as headaches, pain, hand tremors, and mood disturbances.

In a study that the Concussion Recovery Center performed, the results were astounding after a single session:

  • Cortisol (stress hormone) was reduced by 47%
  • Cognitive functioning improved by 47%
  • Brain fog was decreased by 41%
  • Headaches was decreased by 33%
  • Ringing in ears was reduced by 47%
  • The King Devick Test (considered a gold standard in evaluating for concussions) reaction time reduced 6% (which means they could answer the questions quicker).

Hidden Secrets of Scars

Scar tissue is a natural part of the body's healing process.  It forms a tight and protective bridge across the open area of injury, surgery, or trauma.  Every scar has a unique story and impacts each person differently. However, the visible scars are just the surface, as the new collagen produced during the healing process spreads deeper and affects the surrounding structures and fascia.  This healing process can take up to two years to complete.  However, this new tissue's functionality and elasticity are very different from the surrounding healthy tissue, which can affect the surrounding fascia, lymphatic vessels, blood vessels, and muscles.

How Scar release will benefit you

  • Improve range of motion
  • Lessens the appearance of scars
  • Reduces the possibility of long-term problems due to fascial adhesions
  • Helps to prevent and reduce adhesions forming after injury or surgery
  • Helps to decrease numbness, pain and sensitivity from surgery
  • Reduce pain and restriction (including cording and dragging)
  • Helps to relieve stress on the body from scars
  • Improves flexibility
  • Reduces muscle spasms
  • Promotes balance in the body
  • Helps to improve posture
  • Reduces the risk of muscle tears and strains

Lymphatic System

What is the lymphatic system?

The lymphatic system consists of an extensive network of lymph vessels, nodes, and organs. It helps us maintain fluid balance, remove waste from our bodies, defend against infections, and facilitate the absorption of dietary fats from the digestive tract.

The lymphatic system is often referred to as the unsung hero of the body's immune defence. It's a network of tissues and organs that work together to rid the body of toxins, waste, and other unwanted materials, while also playing a crucial role in immune function.

Lymphatic system post-surgery

Your recovery after plastic surgery or any other surgery, even dental surgery is as important as your actual surgery. Any surgery will cause extra stress and trauma to your body. This impacts how your lymphatic system works and how your body heals.

For post-operative care, Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) can be highly beneficial in minimizing swelling, decreasing bruising and pain, as well enhancing mobility as you recover. This gentle, therapeutic technique stimulates the lymphatic system, helping to promote fluid circulation and tissue healing.

Your surgeon may suggest receiving MLD sessions 2-3 times per week for the initial 4-6 weeks following your surgery, and then reducing the frequency to 1-2 times per week as your recovery progresses. This tailored approach can support your body’s natural healing process and contribute to a smoother recovery experience.

With cosmetic procedures like liposuction, the proper function of the lymphatic system is compromised even more, since the lymphatic pathways are removed. The post-op swelling can take anywhere from 3 to 6 months to recover if proper post-op care is not utilized.  Receiving a  post-op Lymphatic Massage helps to accelerate the recovery and achieve the goals you are looking for.

Benefits of Post-op  lymphatic drainage

  • Accelerates lymphatic flow
  • Speeds up the healing process by reducing swelling, bruising
  • Boosts the immune system
  • Decreases scars and build-up of fibrosis
  • Reduces soreness post-procedure
  • Relaxation and stress reliever
  • Helps patients to get the best possible results from their cosmetic surgery or other surgery
  • Reducing lymphodema risk
  • Reduces the chances of peripheral neuropathy (nerve pain)
